Preference Management – Refinements
Overview
This release includes a set of quality-of-life improvements to the Preference Management module, aimed at providing a smoother configuration experience and better clarity for users managing their email subscription preferences.
What's Improved
Streamlined Subscription Setup
The default "One-on-One" subscription type has been retired from new preference configurations. This simplifies the initial setup and gives users full control over defining subscription categories that align with their specific business needs, without any pre-set defaults.
Clearer Scope Guidance
An inline instructional note has been added to the preference settings screen:
"Preference settings only apply to transactional & notification emails."
This ensures users have upfront clarity on the scope of their preference configurations, reducing any ambiguity during setup.
Expanded Category Naming
The character limit for subscription category names has been increased from the previous limit to 100 characters, allowing for more descriptive and meaningful category labels.
Editable Category Names
Subscription category names can now be edited after creation. Users no longer need to delete and recreate a category if a naming adjustment is needed.
Improved Save Behavior
Addressed an edge case where preference settings could be inadvertently updated without explicit user intent. Save actions now require deliberate confirmation, preventing accidental overwrites.
Graceful Handling of Archived Preferences
Improved the experience for scenarios where all user-configured preferences have been archived. The module now displays a clear, guided zero-state message instead of an empty or broken view, helping users understand their current state and take the appropriate next steps.
